Sukhe kale chane is very popular for bhog or prasad during Navratri in north India. This Prasad is usually served with suji ka halwa and poori. Black grams are very delicious as well as nutritious because they are filled with protein and fiber.

Servings: 3 to 4 persons
Preparation & cooking time – 20 minutes
For stuffing masala:
· Black chickpeas – 1 cup (200 grams)
· Finely chopped Coriander leaves –1/4 cup
· Chopped green chills – 2 to 3
· Grated ginger – 1 tsp.
· Asafoetida – a pinch
· Oil – 1 tbsp.
· Ghee – 1 tbsp.
· Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp.
· Cumin coriander – 1 tsp.
· Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp.
· Mango powder – 1/4 tsp.
· Garam masala – 1/4 tsp.
Salt – 1/2 tsp. in boiling + 1/2 tsp. in the tempering process
If you want gravy in your curry you can add more water.
· While adding dry masala turn your flame on slow mode so that it does not burn.
· This is a Prasad recipe so it’s without onion garlic. Believe me, even without onion-garlic, sukhe chane goes well with suji halwa and poori.
· Use fresh curry leaves for better flavor.
