Murmura chivda is a common recipe in Indian houses for evening tea time snack. It is nothing but flavored puffed rice namkeen which is such an easy quick and chatpata tea time light snack. It has sweet sour and salted taste which makes it more delightful. I added citric acid powder (grinded) to add sour taste into namkeen but you may skip it. In Hindi it is called murmure in Gujarati it is called mamra. You can make Bhel/Jhalmuri chat from this chivda.
Ingredients:
Murmura or puffed rice – 250 grams
Peanut – ½ cup
Dariya or roasted split gram – ½ cup
Chopped dry coconut – ½ cup
Grated Ginger – 1 tbsp.
Garlic – 1 tbsp. (optional)
Some fresh Curry leaves
Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder – 1 TSP.
Curry leaves some fresh
Citric acid powder – 1 tsp. (optional)
Red chili powder (Kashmiri) – 2 tbsp.
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tbsp.
Sev – 1 cup
