Mawa Modak Recipe (Khoya Modak Recipe) / How to make Modak at home:

Do you always bring ready-made farali (falahari/फलाहारी) ફરાળી મોદક during Ganesh Chaturthy or Navratri? Try this easy homemade mawa modak recipe. Modak is a popular Indian traditional sweet dish/dessert made during auspicious occasions like Ganesh Chaturthi or Navratri (Navaratri). You can also prepare it during fasting days because it has farali ingredients in it.

Mawa Modak Recipe Ingredients:
Mawa (khoya) – 250 grams
Sugar – 4 Tbsp.
Cardamom powder – 1 Tsp.
Grinded Cashews powder – 4 Tbsp.
Saffron milk – ½ Tbsp.

I have shown recipe to make two types of modak, first is simple, easy and quick modak recipe and second one is modak recipe with Kesar(saffron) and Kaju (Cashew). Modak is Lord Ganesha’s favourite sweet and is specifically made during Ganesh Chaturthi festivals especially in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
